Non-clinging Awareness
Добавлен 13 апр 2006
The secret to health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.
Love is something that is new, fresh, alive. It has no yesterday and no tomorrow. It is beyond the turmoil of thought. It is only the innocent mind which knows what love is, and the innocent mind can live in the world which is not innocent. To find this extraordinary thing which man has sought endlessly through sacrifice, through worship, through relationship, through sex, through every form of pleasure and pain, is only possible when thought comes to understand itself and comes naturally to an end. Then love has no opposite, then love has no conflict. You may ask, `If I find such a love, what happens to my wife, my children, my family? They must have security.' When you put such a question you have never been outside the field of thought, the field of consciousness. When once you have been outside that field you will never ask such a question because then you will know what love is in which there is no thought and therefore no time. You may read this mesmerized and enchanted, but actually to go beyond thought and time - which means going beyond sorrow - is to be aware that there is a different dimension called love. But you don't know how to come to this extraordinary fount - so what do you do? If you don't know what to do, you do nothing, don't you? Absolutely nothing. Then inwardly you are completely silent. Do you understand what that means? It means that you are not seeking, not wanting, not pursuing; there is no centre at all. Then there is love. - Jiddu Krishnamurti
So, when the question comes up: What have we got to do? The answer can only be: Nothing. And this is, to my mind, the most wonderful aspect of it. This thing we are talking about (unconditional love) is not to be possessed by a few initiates, by the privileged in wealth or in learning it is open to everyone. It does not require concentration, effort will power, disciplines of any sort. It exists here and now, it requires only one thing to see it: openness, freedom -- freedom to be open and not tethered by any ideas, concepts and opinions. We can go on reading, studying , attending lectures etc, until we are blue in the face, all this will not be of slightest avail. It is only when we stop thinking and let go, that we can start seeing, discovering.
Rahula, practice loving kindness to overcome anger. Loving ki

Some Q&A with Joseph at 34:00
Ultimately, there is light and love and intelligence in this universe. And we are it, we carry that within us, it's not just something out there, it is within us and this is what we are trying to re-connect with, our original light and love and intelligence, which is who we are, so do not get so distracted by all this other stuff, you know, really remember what we are here on this planet for.

Guided Big Sky Meditation with Joseph Goldstein
Просмотров 35 тыс.10 лет назад
This is a guided big sky (big mind) meditation with Joseph Goldstein. Meditation begins at 1:45 The Buddha taught that even if you were to carry your mother and your father on your shoulders for 100 years that would still not be enough to repay them: "I tell you, monks, there are two people who are not easy to repay. Which two? Your mother & father. Even if you were to carry your mother on one ...
Seeing With The Body - Thanissaro Bhikkhu
Просмотров 15 тыс.10 лет назад
A great Dhamma talk by Thanissaro Bhikkhu on how we cling to our suffering. One of the Buddha's essential insights was the suffering that really weighs down the mind. Its a suffering that we create and that its unnecessary and even though we create it and suffer from it, we cling to it. This has some unexpected implications. One, for a lot of us if we didn't suffer we'd be lost, or the idea of ...

Thanissaro Bhikkhu - Just This Breath
Просмотров 22 тыс.10 лет назад
An inspiring and wonderful dhamma talk on putting all our focus and attention on the breath in meditation practice. "Don't tell yourself you've got a whole hour to sit here. Just tell yourself you've got this breath: this breath coming in, this breath going out. That's all there is: this breath. As for the breaths for the rest of the hour, don't even think of them right now. Pay attention to t...

Basic meditation instructions with Buddhist teacher Joseph Goldstein. The cycle of life is a struggle. And through the vortex of birth and death, I searched for the creator of this world. Joseph Goldstein - Working With Fear

A dharma talk on how to work with anxiety and fear in meditation practice. "I stayed in the sort of places that are awe-inspiring and make your hair stand on end, such as park-shrines, forest-shrines, & tree-shrines. And while I was staying there a wild animal would come, or a bird would make a twig fall, or wind would rustle the fallen leaves. The thought would occur to me: 'Is this that fear ...
Joseph Goldstein - Working with Thought and Emotion

A dhamma talk on how to work with thoughts and emotions in our meditation practice. “The truth of suffering is to be realized. The truth of the cause of the suffering is to be understood. The true of the end of the suffering is to be experienced. And the way to the end is to be walked by each one. The Buddha´s enlightenment solved his problem, it did not solve ours, except to point out the way....

My "chilling out" going to sleep song. Thank you Nitin
12:14 2nd meditation, on sensation
💌🕊🙏🏾❤️
How do I deal with wanting to commit suicide 😢? I abandoned all my family at a vulnerable time in my life when I unknowingly got sucked into a cult…who then punished me and scammed me beyond belief. That was 10yrs ago and I feel I cannot cope as I’ve hurt them all so much 😢😢😢😢
Bedtime ❤
This one is legendary.
This was one of the best meditations I’ve ever done, thank you!
Been listening to this off and on for around 7 years, it’s one that I come back to when I can’t stop the chatter of the mind
Lower your blood pressure. This is so beautiful
I don't understand what equanimity has to do with the fact that happiness is dependent on ones actions.
Hello Jack. Thank you for your guided meditation. You stay through.
🙏😊
Truth cannot be organised.
for those who want to do more research on this topic, look up "the types of tanhas" ie. kamma tanha (craving for sense pleasure) bhava tanha (craving to become) and vibhava tanha (craving to avoiding to become)
গানটা আর একটু বড় হলোনা! :(
What’s going on with this recording
People online today are so toxic, demanding, spoilt, ugly, and on a meditation offered for free. You make me sick and the millions like you. Stop polluting all that is good.
Getting visual to be completely empty…wow what Grace
Thank you 🙏
Thanissaro Bikkhu is so easy to listen to, I always remember his words and voice when I become concentrated
Thank you very much!
Gratitude for Wise teaching and honet instructionn.
HONEST, of course.
南无阿弥陀佛
It’s hilarious to me that after 25 minutes of meditating on no self he concludes with CHOOSING. Who is choosing brother?
"ke kandari baicho tori aral theke" vergreen song ❤ still listening in 2024
Simple and profound.
It is bedtime ❤️
Love this. It is poetic too. ❤
this is a really cool idea and a great meditation but after covid not a good listen tbh all the coughing kinda freaked me out and i had to turn it off.
Ayya Khema had to be an Arahant 🙏🙏🙏
I love this meditation and as always with Joseph's commentaries and instructions, I feel grateful to him for sharing so generously. There's one thing I don't understand. Why say that there is no solid body (no head, no back etc.)? I find it a bit confusing because if we are to be aware of sensations, surely we will be aware of the sensation of having a body. Maybe I'm missing something obvious here.
Beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you JG, I’ve been listening/ sitting this meditation, on and off for a year.
❤
Thank You! 🙏
Thank you for sharing , reminding 🤗🤗
🙏💜💫
movement masks dukha? no, movement is an attempt to relieve dukha it doesn't mask it
The biggest fear I have is being misunderstood
I was looking for this song and the singer from last 3 year. ❤❤ it’s so touchy….
So accepting ❤
Poor voice quality.
🙏😊
Everything is impermanent on every level. Have patience.
Straight to sleep
🙏🙏🙏
Thanissaro Bhikkhu ❤🙏🏽
Thank you Jack.
THANK YOU!
